Harry Potter photos - feedback evaluation

Below is the feedback for my images. I created the questions on PollJunkie, and asked people to fill them out, I posted the link onto my blogger and also had a copy of the images on the same post, as this would make it easier for people to fill out the questions.
A recurring thing that people have said is about the colours. They have said that the colours are bright and vivid.

Some of the things that people have said need to be improved are that I shouldn't have taken the images through the glass, but seeing as it was behind a cabinet, I couldn't do much about that. I could also do do with zooming in on the images to get more of a closeup.

People have said that the things that stand out of the most on the images is the colours and the contrast between the colours used.

I then asked what were peoples favourite images, and I got back a range of different answers as you can see above.

Long exposure shots - Fireworks

These are my first attempt at firework long exposure. I took these when I went to a firework championships in Skipton. Seeing as it was first time photographing fireworks and also using long exposure.
I think that this photo would be good if the house at the bottom was cropped out, or if the lights in the house were switched off, and it just created a silhouette. Also the fireworks at the top of the photograph look a little grainy, and I think that its because it was exposed for a little bit too long.

The above photo has a little too much sky on it and it makes the subject of the photo look really small, I think this needs to be cropped, zoomed in and also straightened up. One thing that I like about this photo is the colours of the fireworks.

Photographic Applications - Advertising

This advertising campaign for the ice bar that is coming to Manchester creates the sense that it is actually going to be an ice bar, ad look like an ice hut, like it does in the photo. the colour scheme throughout the photo creates a sense that its coming in the summer so you can enjoy one of the ice cold Coors Light Beers.

This is an example of print advertising that I have taken from a magazine. It is advertising the brand as well as the products. The thing that stand out the most in this image is Cara Delevingne, who is wearing the brightest clothes and is also in the middle of the group of people. All the models are wearing products from the brand. And they are all wearing coats that match their bags.

Promotional

This is a promotional image from a webpage. It think it appeals to people because products from Cath Kidston can a bit on the expensive side and by them advertising a sale it will attract more people to buy products. The colour of the background that the promotion is set against isn't as quite as hard on the eyes because it isn't red, but because it is a pink colour it still stands out to buyers. The same with the Topshop sale promotion page, that is also a pink colour and still manages to be eye-catching for people to look out.

Architectural

This is an architectural advertising campaign for the Burj hotel in Dubai. With this advert it is advertising an event - which in this case it is Christmas, and also the hotel. Its showing the hotel in a different environment as it is usually on a beach and
with this advert it is showing it in a snow storm which ties in with the festive theme.
